Three agreements of cooperation were signed today at the headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Rabat between ISESCO and Saudi DLT (Distance Learning and Training) Group, based in Riyadh.
ISESCO Deputy Director General Dr Amina Al-Hajri and DLT Chief Executive Officer Eng. Zuhair bin Ali Azhar co-signed a partnership agreement focusing on people with disabilities, a memorandum of understanding on PIREN (Pan-Islamic Research and Education Network), and an agreement to establish a prize for cell phone applications.
On 14 July 2014, ISESCO and DLT initially entered into an agreement of cooperation to strengthen research in distance learning and training, build up Arabic e-libraries, and develop an Arabic searching engine. A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two institutions was also signed on 14 October 2014 whereby DLT pledges to assist in technical education and vocational training in the Union of the Comoros, in coordination both with the relevant Comoran parties and with ISESCO delegation in Moroni.
DLT’s work consists in developing distance learning and training programmes in the Arab and Islamic worlds and building up capacities to reach global learning standards.
